I qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer in 1974 and worked at Addenbrookes and UCH until moving to Worcester where I completed my MSc in Ultrasound in 2002. After a period working in the private sector on new hospital builds I re-joined the NHS at middle management grade and rotated round general management post within secondary and tertiary care organisations. Taking early retirement in 2010 I worked as an NHS interim within senior roles across London finally spending five years with a GP Federation. The federation was anxious to increase the availability of undergraduate clinical placements within primary care/GP Practices and I led on the opening of a new education centre for student placements in 2018. Part of my research will be examining the impact of this centre on the future career choices of the centre's healthcare students.
