Dr Robert McHardy | Kingston University London

I am currently a senior lecturer teaching on the Kingston University Forensic Science course, having gained many years' first-hand experience working as a forensic scientist at the UK Home Office Forensic Science Service. During this time I worked on hundreds of cases, being involved in the whole process from sampling, analysing, interpretation and statement writing through to giving evidence in court on many occasions. I specialised in analysing gunshot residue (GSR) using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), but also worked on many other evidence types including glass, paint, metal analysis and some drugs/toxicology work.

Prior to my work as a forensic scientist my PhD was focussed on scanning tunnelling microscopy.
