Sankatha Bamunuge

As a Doctoral Researcher at Kingston University London, I am developing a novel architectural approach to middleware designed to bridge the gap between legacy data systems and modern, policy aware ecosystems. My research centres on the decoupling of governance, provenance, and orchestration logic from core application code, elevating these constraints into first class, runtime interpretable constructs. By leveraging "Policy as Code" and declarative metadata, I am engineering frameworks that enable high-fidelity, adaptive communication within highly regulated and specialised environments.

My work addresses the critical challenges of system interoperability by replacing rigid, imperative configurations with dynamic, event-driven orchestration. This transition allows for seamless compliance enforcement and semantic integrity across decentralised data streams, ensuring that complex integration patterns remain modular, scalable, and resilient.

Looking toward the future of autonomic computing, I am investigating the integration of Agentic AI within these governed frameworks. My objective is to enable autonomous, goal-oriented agents to perform high context decision making and realtime adaptation while operating within strictly defined regulatory boundaries. By synthesising intelligent agencies with robust middleware governance, I aim to architect the next generation of self orchestrating, mission critical digital infrastructure.
