Personal profile
Research interests
A First-class honours BSC Economics graduate with an MSc in Health Economics. I also hold an AFHEA qualification and have been awarded two teaching excellence awards, the first in my first year of teaching. I have over 3 years of experience in the higher education sector, including teaching undergraduate economics students, and I am eager to gain even more experience in the coming years.
I am currently an Economics lecturer at Brunel University London Pathway College. I teach first year and foundation economics modules to international and home students. I have also achieved consistently high student pass rates and positive student feedback, reflecting my commitment to delivering quality education. I have also worked as a personal tutor at Brunel University Business School, and my first role in academia was as a Graduate Academic Assistant in the economics department at Middlesex University after graduating as an undergraduate. All these roles allowed me to develop further and improve my pedagogical, critical thinking, and quantitative analysis skills. I can further develop these skills by pursuing a research degree in an area of intense interest.
To be a profound Analytical researcher, it will be required to have more than an interest in the economy and a first degree. This is why I intend to widen my knowledge and experiences further. My experiences vary, but my deeper interest falls between two: teaching and research. I want to utilise my skills to excel as an educator and researcher.
Abstract
This research aims to explore transformative practices in the finance sector by focusing on the rise of digital finance and the decline in cash usage. By critically analysing debates surrounding financialisation, this study aims to highlight existing gaps and align them with economic perspectives on recent financial transformations and the causes behind the transition to digital money.
Moreover, this research will adopt a pluralistic approach, combining various economic theories to address the complexities of finance and technology. The findings will aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of how digitalisation is reshaping financial practices, offering new insights into the broader implications for economic systems.
