Project Details
Description
This investigation will experimentally test the impacts of generative AI (GenAI) use on the qualities of scientific foresight employed in the academic and policy spaces. The purpose is to help inform the growing use of GenAI tools in scientific research, funding, policy, and development. Insights from this investigation will be applicable across multiple fields. The outcomes aim to show how GenAI is affecting expert and novice human cognition when engaged in scientific planning, development, design, and interpretation. The outcomes will help support broader understandings of the pace of scientific progress in the age of AI, and inform policy developments around the use of AI in scientific work.
