Abstract
In this article Marcus Bhargava draws on the experiences of a range of teacher educators to reflect on the challenges, and lessons learned, from starting up a subject specialism almost from scratch. This captures some of the exciting opportunities afforded by the introduction of Citizenship to the national curriculum, and illustrates some of the wider impact of the subject.
