Abstract

This short documentary reveals Maggie Chang, a Taiwanese immigrant in the UK, concerns about the emergence of cultural contrast through how people treat her two daughters completely different in Britain and in Taiwan. Her Brazilian husband Jorge Araujo talks about the difficulties he and Maggie had on the application of their visa and passport, which reveals the issue of Taiwan's international status: it is not recognised as an independent country. This short documentary is one of the episodes of Floating Home documentary series, which is presented in a research through the filmmaking about the identity of the Taiwanese in the UK.
