Abstract
This brief article sets out the story of a sports journalist who lived in Richmond-upon-Thames during the 1930s and offered his services to the German Intelligence Services. He was monitored by MI5, the Security Service, and was arrested for espionage. He was tried at the High Court for selling military information to the Germans and was found guilty.
