Abstract

Nineteen papers, presented at a conference held at the University of New South Wales in 1996, analyze commercial systems as evolutionary systems. Papers paradigm straddling economics, finance, marketing, and management, which acknowledges that commercial systems are evolutionary systems and must therefore by analyzed with evolutionary tools. Papers focus on philosophical and methodological implications of complexity and evolution in economic systems; finance and the macroeconomy; market and sectoral dynamics; and marketing and interdependent behavior. Coeditors are Carl Chiarella, Steve Keen, Robert Marks, and Hermann Schnabl. Barnett is Professor of Economics at Washington University, St. Louis. No index.
