Abstract
Soldiers returning from the Great War after discharge and demobilisation were faced with rival ex-servicemen's associations in Richmond, south-west London, and these organisations sought to either capitalise on or calm down the growing discontent and frustrations of such former soldiers as they sought to adapt to peacetime conditions. This rivalry between associations also reflected the situation at wider national level
