Abstract
Electric Dada was created through the Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP), a commission from Mercy and Penned in the Margins for a unique touring show of avant garde performance, music and poetry that was followed up with individual performance commissions, spanning May 2013 to November 2015.
This piece was inspired by the original Dada movement, almost 100 years before, which was powerfully motivated by displacement and death, embodied in WWI as a mass madness and mortal cult and that Dada responded to that, almost as the sound of the ghosts created.
S. J. Fowler was invited onto BBC Radio 3: The Verb and performed a version of Electric Dada as sound poetry.
