    Abstract

    Octopus are pleased to announce the fourth edition of Full of Noises, a weekend of new music and sound art taking place in and around Barrow-in-Furness between July 31st and Aug 2nd 2015. This year's expanded programme includes specially commissioned live performances, talks, installations and workshops by a broad spectrum of composers, musicians and sound artists from across UK, Europe and Japan. Individual strands include contributions from our first ever FON guest curator, Helen Frosi of SoundFjord and new works by two of Japan's leading sound artists co-curated by Ryoko Akama. Venues include a return visit to St James Church with its superb acoustic, Barrow park, screenings and installations at Cookes Studios and a festival hub in which artists and audiences will be invited to eat, drink, meet and be entertained and informed by all manner of diverse FON goings-on. Artists include: Oscilanz, Minoru Sato, Kanta Horio, Andie Brown, Aine O'Dwyer, Leslie Deere, Ingrid Plum, Alison Blunt, Stephan Barrett, Floodtide, Mark Vernon, Brona Martin, Hear This Space, Patrick Farmer, Lachenalia, Lisa Skuret, Mary Stark, Jenn Mattinson, DunningWebsterUnderwood, Ryoko Akama, SoundFjord, film screenings and more to be announced.
