Abstract
This documentary is a short story about how a Taiwanese educational immigrant in the UK, Yung-Fang Chen, deals with the cultural differences with her English parents-in-law and husband (Ben Gibbon). It also reveals how Yung-Fang and Ben Gibbon attempt to guide their daughter to not only learn the local language but also to understand Taiwanese Mandarin in order to communicate with her family in Taiwan. This short documentary is one of the episodes of Floating Home documentary series, which is presented in a research through the filmmaking about the identity of the Taiwanese in the UK.
