Leveraging guanxi to enhance supply chain integration

Guanxi plays an essential role in supply chain operations through both interpersonal and inter-organizational relationships. Since supply chains involve multiple parties, the connections between individuals and various supply chain partners are crucial. Understanding the impact of guanxi is particularly important for effective supply chain integration. This chapter presents a conceptual study exploring the influence of guanxi on supply chain capabilities. We propose that guanxi has the potential to enhance supply chain visibility, agility, and flexibility. This exploration aims to help both academics and practitioners design supply chains that incorporate guanxi considerations.
