Abstract
A method for producing metal-alginate (Fe-ALG, Zn-ALG, Ni-ALG, Cu-ALG, Al-ALG, Ca-ALG) crosslinked particles is provided, which comprises adding a metal salt solution to sodium-alginate (Na-ALG) powder, mixing, and drying, or optionally washing the metal-alginate crosslinked particles followed by filtering and drying. Also provided is the use of the metal-alginate crosslinked particles as an agent for inactivating antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, norfloxacin, doxycycline or tetracycline.
