Abstract

A one hour one take medium close up of a streetlight from dusk to nightfall. It is replicated three times then played at 600 times its natural speed, reversed & looped. This ambient video is a mimetic meditation on modernism, nationalism & power, presented as an 'electric flag'. The cyclic evolution of light symbolises the natural flux between extremes of all political thought. It is interesting to note ones own inferences with regards the changes of light & colour - it is perhaps the ultimate flag of pragmatism.
