Older workers: the jam in the sandwich

Abstract

This paper considers older workers and intergenerational relations in Norway and the UK. New interventions are proposed for Baby Boomers, seen as the jam in the intergenerational sandwich. Senior Quality Circles offer a means of bridging the gap between work and life outside work, and of easing transitions. A sustainable pattern of development is required.
