Pon de corner with me brethren...

Research output: Contribution to conferenceOther

Abstract

Nelson Douglas was commissioned by Wolverhampton Citizens for Change to undertake the Videography/Photography for a conference held in Wolverhampton by West Midlands Police Crime Commission and West Midlands Health Authority.

This conference aims to look at issues relating the mental wellbeing of the young people within the community, particularly in the context of gangs. It aimed to illustrate how something as simple as standing on the corner talking with your friends can be deemed as threatening which in turn can very quickly escalate to young men being criminalised and, in some cases, end up being sectioned in a mental institution.
