    Abstract

    The paper aims to contribute to a critical review of policy approaches to supporting SME internationalisation across Europe at the EU and national levels. This will include an analysis of the support needs of SMEs to assist them in their internationalization efforts - the demand side for intervention. The paper pays particular attention to sources of finance for internationalisation and the role of public policy in relation to this.
