    Abstract

This paper presents a consideration of the editorial and typographic structure of the journal 'Art-Language', and a discussion of how this specific structure was used as a vehicle for practice by the group. The analysis will be positioned against other examples of the publication in/as art practice, both from the period of conceptual art and today, through cross-comparison of the extent to which editorial, layout and typographic strategies were, and are, essential to the operation of these publications as works of art.
