Abstract

Recent studies show that over the last decade electronic systems designed, created and continuously developed with the common goal to help the elderly live a more independent life. Each of the existing electronic systems offer services that cover different needs of ageing people living, such as self-determined life at home, social interaction, etc. In this paper we propose a set of service components that constitute a model for an e-service architecture capable to support the autonomy of older people. Furthermore, we argue that by exploiting existing operational electronic systems and integrate them according to the services they offer we can possibly converge to an ideal system that enhances assisted living of elderly people.
