Abstract

How can Soundpainting demonstrate the act of thinking via performance and live composition? In response to the Practice Research Unit's conference questions I summarise the philosophy of Soundpainting with reference to how the gestural live composition sign language relies on performance as an act of thought, and screen a 10 minute section of a Soundpainting performance made with university students in which I perform on trumpet.
