    Abstract

    This is a local history article published as part of the promotion and celebration of Local History Month in May, and was included in the 'Local Community History Month Resource Pack', an educational publication produced by the Royal Borough of Kingston for Kingston Libraries Service and Kingston History Centre. The article explores some of the lesser-known and 'hidden' aspects of Kingston's local history in the 1930s and 1940s.
