    Abstract

For teaching and learning setting in a module, three important factors are interlinked: • students‘ achievements (pass percentage & overall satisfaction) • lecturer‘s satisfaction (teaching through self-reflection), and • course/syllabus completion within the allotted timetable. In this study, in a first year module setting, in year 2016/17, with a class cohort of more than one-hundred students achieved a good pass rate close to 67% in both occurrences, comprising of unequal number of students of aerospace and mechanical programme. Aero students stood at nearly 6% above average with overall-pass-rate 72.9%, attributed to higher admission tariff intake for aero-programme. In students‘ learning process, a four-stage approach is adopted: an issue is raised, analyzed, followed by required intervention and reflection. This could be applied for classroom building material, engaging students‘ outside classroom and/or e-learning. More parametric evaluation studies will be carried out in the 2018/19 year, through: SoSNs, ethnicity & internationalisation to help achieve equal learning opportunities, and for students to realize their full potential.
