Abstract
Spanning over seven decades and 300 shows, this book documents the story of the high fashion catwalk. Via an archive collection of fashion show invites and associated memorabilia, belonging for the most part to the author, this book presents a rare insight into the catwalk presentations of the world's most exclusive fashion houses. The book catalogues unique themes and styles chosen by designers and confirms the significance of the show invitation as an initial ‘message’ communicated each season. With contributions from leading fashion press and a foreword by the designer Anna Sui, The Fashion Show presents a behind-the-scenes view previously unseen by the public.
