Abstract
The universal goals of education as described in Freire's Critical Pedagogy are the focus of this presentation. In this regard the pedagogical aspects of the presentation will include the focus on EdTech's utility in i) reducing the inherent coercive tension in teacher-learner dynamic, and, ii) promoting the 3 goals of Critical Pedagogy: knowing yourself, knowing the world, and, knowing how to change the world. The universal appeal of Critical Pedagogy is in its clear focus on promoting subjectivity and engagement with the world as the prerequisites for development of democratic societies.
