Abstract

Architecture is light reflected from water onto a wall. The quality of light in Venice is formed by reflection from the canals; the coloured rendered walls receiving this light exist in varying states of dilapidation. This slowly eroding material condition which defines the character of this city, is animated by the play of the reflected light.
