Abstract

Earlier generations of computers made few concessions to naive users. Fith generation computing projects emphasise human needs and users. "Logic as a Computer Language for Children", at Imperial College, enabled the computer to be used declaratively by naive users. The chapter reviews experience of different implementations, surface syntax and applications.
