Abstract

An exhibition at Paul Smith's Albemarle Street gallery, to coincide with the publication of As Seen In BLITZ: Fashioning '80s Style, made up of a variety of elements including original photography that I styled as fashion editor of BLITZ magazine along with other ephemera. The exhibition also fetaured new collages fashioned using Xerox technique. Central to the exhibition is a set of Paul Smith denim jackets that I customised referencing the 1986 BLITZ Designer Denim Jacket project, when I commissioned 22 designers - including Smith himself, and Vivienne Westwood, Leigh Bowery and Bodymap - to re-imagine a Levi's denim jacket. The exhibition also included new product that I designed in collaboration with Paul Smith (a silk headscarf, tote bag and handkerchief), a one-off knitted balaclava and new photography.
